Our research and innovation programme comprises 9 projects, which are organised in 3 work packages - with collaboration within and across work packages.
Systems and alloys
This workpackage addresses systemic issues, including the need for the design of new hydrogen tollerent alloys as well as the perspectives of multiple actors on how to make change happen.
This work package explores possible future steel making production processes. Projects consider how to handle lower quality raw material inputs, recycled inputs and bi-products - with a focus on ensuring quality, valuable products - whilst also reducing the number of stages in the overall process.
This workpackage is investigating how steels produced using hybrit (the hydrogen reduction process) and can be processed into high grade, high value, steel products.
